Users

In the Users area, you can access user management. You can see at a glance which users have been created, with which ID and which role. With the appropriate rights, you have the option of creating users or assigning roles.

You can obtain further information by double-clicking on a user.

UserDetails

Under ‘Login’ you can see the user ID and the API key. The API key is always created, even if the user does not have a role in which they have been granted use of the API. In the ‘User’ tab, you will find further information such as surname, first name and e-mail address, company, address and opt-in date. The ‘Roles’ tab shows you an overview of the individual roles to which the user is assigned. In ‘Settings’ you will find an overview of which UI language the user has selected, whether they are working with the light or dark skin in TESSA and information about the arrangement of the tabs and the selected module when the application is started.

Creating and maintaining users

As an administrator, you can create users manually via ‘New’. Alternatively, your TESSA can be configured so that a new user is automatically created when someone registers themselves via ‘Register’. In the latter case, there will be a confirmation email after registration, which must be clicked before the account is activated.

After clicking on the ‘New’ function, a dialog opens in which you can enter the information required to create a new user.

CreateUser

To create a new user, you must fill in at least the following information before you can complete the creation by clicking on ‘Insert’. Unique ID, two matching passwords, last name, first name and valid email address.

You can then right-click on the user in the user overview ‘Edit’. You must now set an opt-in date in the past and have the option of assigning roles to the user.

It is important that the user must be created before a role can be assigned to it. A user can also combine several roles.

Assigning roles only works in this way and ATTENTION only roles that have already been created can be assigned. Under the ‘Directories’ tab, you can assign the user access rights to group folders or home folders of other users.
