Placeholder

TESSA offers the possibility to create placeholder assets that already exist without the actual image having been uploaded to TESSA. The use case is that, for example, a product has already been created in Akeneo, which you would like to link to an asset, but the photographer has not yet photographed the product images.

To create a placeholder, simply click on ‘New’ in the content area. The normal dialog for creating an asset opens and you can already assign metadata such as name, asset and media type or keywords, i.e. prepare the asset completely so that you only have to add a file to it later.

To make it easy to find these placeholder assets as soon as the file has been completed and uploaded, TESSA offers you its own search filter called ‘Asset is placeholder’. If this is set to Yes, you will only find placeholder assets in TESSA. Placeholder assets naturally also have no preview image.
